May 22, 2007Crosshairs and Sprite Editing

/news/images/blogicon-20070522.png This week's update brings several new graphics scripts from Leif902. First up is a family of functions to draw a crosshair on the screen, with variants for drawing different widths and different colors. Next we have two very powerful scripts that work together that allow you to dynamically edit sprites using standard Game Maker drawing commands. Thanks Leif902!

April 14, 2007Colors, files, and mice -- Oh my!

/news/images/blogicon-20070414.png Five scripts have been added to the new Color Manipulation section. You'll find scripts for translating RGB components and colors to and from RRGGBB hex codes, as well as a simple but useful script to create a random color. In addition, two scripts have been added to the new File Functions section. One of them lets you write integer words of various lengths to a binary file, the other provides a way to do a relative seek within a binary file. Finally, one more script has been added to the site in the new Mouse Interaction section, a simple button script mainly intended for testing and debugging your games. Thanks Schreib, Leif902, and Mordi!

April 5, 2007Data and Number Conversion

/news/images/blogicon-20070405.png Several new scripts have been added for converting numbers and data into different formats. There are scripts for base conversion, such as decimal to hexadecimal or binary, and there are scripts for data encoding and decoding, such as encoding a string of bytes to Base 64 (RFC 3548) or converting a real number to an 8-byte double and back again.
