In this long-delayed update, we have completed the news section. Over 50 archived stories have been added, reaching all the way back to the launch of the site 19 years ago. Pages of multiple articles can now be browsed from the News menu. I decided against news summaries. They were never written with summarization in mind, and abbreviating them automatically raises some tricky issues. I have added a headline index as a compromise.
The next major effort will be a new site layout and modernized look. This has weighed heavily on my mind. It's not easy. I love this bucket of bolts. I'm considering ways to eliminate the sidebar navigation, but I'm not altogether happy with a hybrid breadcrumb menu I've come up with. I may need to consult with some UX folks.
